A Godly Homemaker

A godly homemaker loves, respects, and obeys her husband. She supports his calling and encourages him in it. She is warm and friendly towards him.

A godly homemaker views children as a blessing from the Lord, and she treats them as such. She doesn’t see them as a burden or annoyance, but instead she nurtures them in the ways of the Lord both in word and in deed.

A godly homemaker is a diligent worker in her home. She uses her time and energy to keep her home orderly, clean, and to cultivate an atmosphere of beauty and peace. She prepares and plans ahead so that her household will have the food, clothing, and things they need.

A godly homemaker extends her ministry beyond her home as she is able. She seeks to practice hospitality, give to the needy, share the Gospel and make disciples as the Lord provides opportunity. She uses her gifts to bless not only her home, but also her sphere of influence in the church, community, and world.

A godly homemaker doesn't elevate herself above other homemakers, but seeks to be faithful to what the Lord has ordained for her household. Instead of focusing on the shortcomings of others, she recognizes her own need for growth and sanctification. This makes her humble, kind, loving, and charitable.

No one does this perfectly, but we can do it faithfully. Seek to obey the Lord in these things, and He will strengthen you for the task.
