Dear Abiding Homemaker,
It’s been a long time since I’ve popped up in your inbox. Most of you have subscribed to my newsletter through my blog Abiding Home, or perhaps you signed up years ago with Abiding Woman or Abiding Homeschool. I have written so infrequently that it’s possible you don’t even remember me. My email list has been sorely neglected. I’m sorry for that!
Let’s get reacquainted.
Since it’s been a while for some of you, we can do a little catching up. I’m Stacey Blevins, a homeschooling mama to eight children. My oldest is 14 and my youngest is 6 months, the rest are stair-stepped in between. We live on a little farm in East Tennessee. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We were miraculously saved from false conversion about ten years ago. You can read my full testimony on my blog Abiding Home. My husband is now the elder of our church Reformed Fellowship Knoxville, and we are seeking to walk in a manner worthy of the Gospel by God’s grace. I share pieces of my journey as a homemaker, homeschooler, and homesteader on my instagram Abiding Home. If you want to get to know me more, that’s the place.
Starting a Substack
What is substack? Basically it’s an email newsletter platform. It makes writing and sending email newsletters much easier than it used to be. Not only that, but they also provide a website which will contain a collection of the archives of all the letters I send out.
For quite a while now I’ve wanted to write to my email subscribers and share on a more personal level. There is so much that gets lost in the noise of social media. I do plan to continue my blogging at Abiding Home, but these letters will be much less formal.
Long before technology took over the world, homemakers wrote letters to one another, perhaps with a little update on life, a picture or two, a few questions, some Scriptural thoughts, and a word of encouragement. I’d like to use the gift of substack technology to bring back this long-lost practice of letter writing.
And don’t worry, these will not be salesy.
If you prefer to read on an app and not in your email then download the app below, and change the email settings within the app.
What to expect.
I hope to write once a week, from one abiding homemaker to another. Emails will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
Scriptural encouragements
inspiration and ideas for homemaking, marriage, and motherhood
life updates, personal stories, & pictures
new youtube video announcements
further discussion and thoughts on big topics that start on instagram, but are too big for social media
I pray it will be a blessing to you and bring a bit of joy into your day. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
Abiding in Christ Jesus,
Stacey
